LG awards 42″ LED TV to Jesse Were of Tusker Football Club for emerging the player of the month.
LG Electronics and Sports Journalists Association of Kenya(SJAK) have today signed a Memorandum of Understanding that will see them cooperate to improve the standards of football in the country.
The agreement will mainly focus on motivating Kenyan footballers through rewarding outstanding performance in the premier league.
As part of the agreement, LG will support the associations activities including donating prizes for its footballer of the month awards and annual gala awards ceremony among others. The gala is to take place in November this year.
Today LG gave out a 42″ LED TV to Jesse Were of Tusker Football Club who emerged the best player of the month.

“We are extremely happy to partner with SJAK to reward best performing players in the Kenyan Premier League. We believe that our joint action will contribute to boosting players morale as well as maintain and develop interest in the sports across the country,” said Moses Marji, General Manager Marketing, LG Electronics. He was speaking during the signing ceremony held at Ruaraka grounds Nairobi.
“In a bid to spur development of sports in the country we rolled out a programme where we reward the most outstanding player in the Kenya Premier League. This is a start and we have seen it motivate the players. With such partnerships we envision a bright future for Kenyan sports,” said Chris Mbaisi, Sports Journalists Association of Kenya president.
The Sport Journalists Association of Kenya is an affiliate of the International Sports Press Association AIPS headquartered in Lausanne, Switzerland, which seeks to enhance the cooperation between sports media in defending sports and the professional interest of the members.
