LG expands retail chain in Uganda with launch of third outlet in Kampala
LG Electronics (LG East Africa) has launched a new brand shop in Kampala’s Industrial Area. The investment is a partnership between LG and one of its main distributors- Diamond Star- who will manage the store, bringing to three the total number of LG outlets in Uganda. With this new development LG aims to double consumer reach in the country. Simultaneously LG also opened a parallel service center in Kampala to cater to the rising number of consumers using its’ products.
While opening the store LG Electronics Managing Director in charge of East and Central Africa Janghoon Chung said, “The opening of this new outlet is a strategic step to further enhance our presence in the market. Quality is our priority at LG and we take the time to make sure that our customers are satisfied with the products that they buy. This is also part of our contribution to the growth of the Ugandan economy by delivering outstanding value to customers.”
Speaking during the event LG’s Marketing Director (East and Central Africa.) Mr. Moses Marji said, “We are responding to the rising demand of LG products in the Ugandan market. This expansion will improve the availability of our innovative products to our growing client base. We project that the new store will serve more than 200,000 new customers every month.”
Some of LG’s headlining home appliances and electronics are expected to hit the Ugandan market through the new shop including
* The LG TWIN Wash Washing Machine that has the capacity to handle two separate loads simultaneously, allowing users to wash different types of clothes seamlessly.
* LG’s new range of Super UHD TVs that use Nano Cell technology to deliver accurate colors and high picture quality even when viewed from wide angles.
LG East Africa is the leading supplier of home electronics and appliances in the region and has stores in Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania, Ethiopia, Sudan, Zambia and Rwanda. Over the years LG East Africa has been working closely with it’s local partners to make sure that LG products get as close to the customers as possible, for instance four new stores were opened in Eastern African in 2017 and this latest launch brings it’s total retail store count in the region to 98 outlets. Additionally, the company also plans to refurbish and upgrade some of the major existing outlets in the region so as to meet global LG Electronics’ shop standards.
